Behaviors related to anxiety or mood disorders were assessed to identify biomarkers of anti-depressant responses by comparing behavioral phenotypes to neurobiochemical analyte levels (Wiltshire3) between two cohorts: 1) vehicle (control), and 2) fluoxetine (chronic treatment).

Procedures conducted:
• tail suspension test  Immobility. Fluoxetine-treated vs. control. 5 min test.
• open field test  Locomotor activity, exploratory and anxiety-related behavior. Fluoxetine-treated vs. control. 7 min test.
• drug and metabolite quantification  Fluoxetine and norfluoxetine concentration (serum) after fluoxetine.
