Source Female mice were obtained from other experiments or from the System Genetics Core at UNC-Chapel Hill. Mice were retired breeders and varied in life history and age. Note that strain names are purposely not given the 'J' designation as they were obtained from UNC. Envigo 2920 irradiated chow, provided ad libitum
Mice were grouped housed in standard cages prior to the experiment. During the experiment, mice were individually housed in standard laboratory cages with attached running wheels. Photoperiod 12:12h light:dark cycle (lights on at 0700h) Testing period The experiment was performed in 17 batches starting in August 2015 and ending in September 2016.
