The goal of this project was to broadly survey phenotypic diversity in a new panel of wild-derived inbred mouse strains developed from wild-caught mice. Each of these "Nachman strains" immortalizes a unique wild haplotype sampled from one of five locations across North and South America: Saratoga Springs, New York, USA; Gainesville, Florida, USA; Manaus, Brazil; Tucson, Arizona, USA; and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Wild mice from these regions have been subject to distinct selective pressures and have evolved unique morphological and physiological adaptations to their environments.
