Source C57BL/6NHsd, FVB/NHsd, B6D2F1/Hsd mice were obtained from Harlan Laboratories (Houston TX). B6(Cg)-Tyrc-2J/J mice were obtained from The Jackson Laboratory (Bar Harbor ME). BALB/cAnNCr AND Crl:CD-1(ICR) were obtained from Charles River Laboratories (Wilmington MA). Mice were used immediately if they were the appropriate weight or were bred in brother-sister matings (except Crl:CD-1(ICR)) for no more than 3 generations to obtain sufficient numbers of female mice of the desired weights. Crl:CD-1(ICR) were bred to unrelated males.

Health Status Pathogens excluded from the colony include mouse parvovirus, minute virus of mice, enzootic diarrhea of infant mice, Sendai virus, pneumonia virus of mice, reovirus 3, lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus, mouse adenovirus, ectromelia virus, K virus, and polyoma virus. Sentinels are screened quarterly.
