Female mice (n = 232) from 50 CC strains were obtained from other experiments or from the System Genetics Core at UNC-Chapel Hill. The female mice in the experiment were retired breeders and varied in life history ad age. Body composition was measured prior to the forced endurance test.

Procedures conducted:
• body weight
• MRI  Body composition (fat and lean mass and percent).
• treadmill endurance test  Maximal distance is recorded when mouse fails to run.
