Mice were exposed at 8-10 wks of age to 18 Gy whole thorax irradiation and monitored for up to 26 weeks. Survival (respiratory distress), bronchoalveolar cell differential, and histological alveolitis and fibrosis phenotypes were determined. There is one cohort; control data are mentioned in the primary publication.

Procedures conducted:
• health assessment  Survival rate and health assessment after exposure to radiation. Number of days without respiratory distress (max 26 wks).
• bronchoalveolar lavage assessment  Bronchoalveolar cell differential after exposure to radiation (18 Gy).
• histopathology  Post exposure to radiation.
