Data changelog No updates/corrections.       Initial release date: 07/2011.
To identify the genes underlying chronic kidney disease, a F2 intercross between the kidney damage-susceptible SM/J and the nonsusceptible MRL/MpJ mouse were generated to do a QTL study in renal phenotypes. In addition, a kidney expression profile from each mouse was combined with QTL data. These combined data helped the authors identify not only genes that are likely to be causal candidates for QTL but also pathways where these genes act to alter phenotypes. For details see the associated publications.

Being an eQTL study, this data set is different from most others in the QTL Archive. There are several traditional phenotypes plus 33,871 gene expression probesets each of which can be analysed as a phenotype. To avoid an extremely wide data set the columns and rows are transposed. For more details, see note under Phenotype Data, below.

Gene expression microarray platform: Mouse Gene 1.0 ST Affymetrix chip.
