To study the genetic architecture of F1 hybrid sterility between house mouse Mus m. domesticus and Mus m. musculus, QTL analysis of a backcross between inbred strains (PWD, B6) representing the two subspecies was conducted. Segregation of hybrid sterility genes was analyzed in 254 male backcross progeny of (PWDxB6) F1 females mated to B6 males. For detailed protocols see the publication of Dzur-Gejdosova et al 2012 (Evolution online accepted articles, 2012).
