Duplex polycarbonate cages on ventilated racks which provided 99.997% HEPA-filtered air to each cage; lid of each cage was fitted with a filtered top which reduced cross-cage odor exposure when mice were removed from the ventilated racks for testing; bedding changed weekly; nestlets and Shepherd Shacks were provided for enrichment; housed 3-5 per cage
Photoperiod 12h:12h light-dark cycle (lights on at 0600h; novelty testing conducted between 1000 and 1400h; IVSA testing began at 0900h)
