Acclimation & testing periods

Vendor JAX® mice were obtained at 5-6 wks of age from The Jackson Laboratory (Bar Harbor, ME)
Acclimation at test facility 1-3 wks in conventional, non-barrier facility at Oregon Health and Science University, Portland Oregon, USA or at University of Alberta (Edmonton, AB, Canada)
Age at testing 9-17 wks (60-120 days) of age
Feed Purina 5001TM (Animal Specialties Inc, Hubbard, OR) bought locally; ad libitum.
Water Tap; ad libitum
Housing 2-4 mice per cage (Thoren 1A 11" x 7" x 6") with filter tops for all strains
Bedding 1/4" Bed-o-cobTM
Photoperiod 12 h on (6:00 a.m. on, 6:00 p.m. off) 12 h off
Temperature 18 - 22.0°C
Health status Mice were reported in excellent health
